Howard Ward Deas
WARRENVILLE, SC - Mr. Howard Ward Deas, 68, went home to meet his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, with his beloved wife of forty years, Mrs. Nelda Marie Lott Deas, at his side.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Walter and Susie Lowe Deas. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. For his honorable and meritorious service, he received the Purple Heart Medal. He retired from the Gregg Division of Graniteville Company after over twenty years of service and attended Words of Life Ministry. Howard was a member of the PTSD Support Group at the Aiken VA Clinic and was involved in the Wounded Warrior Project. Other than Nelda, his guitar was the love of his life.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Keith Doolittle and his wife, Lynette, Montmorenci, SC, Mike Doolittle, Graniteville, SC, Stephen Herndon and his wife, Traci, Aiken, SC, Michelle Doolittle Herring and her companion, David, Belvedere, SC and Howard W. "Howie" Deas, Jr. and his wife, Edana, Franklin, NC; sister, Shirley Kilpatrick and her companion, Boo, Graniteville, SC; fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 3 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastors Butch Ollis and Dot Chrisco officiating. Interment will follow in Warrenville Cemetery, Warrenville, SC. Pallbearers will be Roy Deas, Lee Friday, Steve Glisson, Joey Beard, Bruce Key, John Deas, Buddy Deas and Mark Deas.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6 until 9 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC.
