Hubert Turner
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Funeral Services for Mr. Hubert Turner, 84, who entered into rest October 20, 2014, will be conducted Thursday morning at 10 o'clock from Fairview Presbyterian Church. Dr. Robert F. Fuller, Jr., Dr. G. Daniel McCall and Rev. Masaki Chiba officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park with Full Military Honors.
Mr. Turner was a native of Lake City, South Carolina, having made North Augusta his home for the past 50 years. He was an active member of Fairview Presbyterian Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mr. Turner served as a Deacon, an Elder and as a member of the Greeter Team. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and a member of the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post #71. Mr. Turner worked as principal at Summerfield Elementary School for over 30 years. He loved children and was dedicated to education. Mr. Turner was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed playing tennis and serving his Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Marie Turner and a son, Hub Turner.
Survivors include two sons, Edward Eugene Turner (Sherry), Independence, MO and Michael David Turner, North Augusta, SC; a daughter, Maria MacInnis (Chris), Marietta, GA; two sisters, Ann Lyons, Lake City, SC and Carole Brown, Orangeburg, SC; seven grandchildren, Trent Turner, Trey Turner, Michael Turner, Josie Turner, Matthew Turner, Turner MacInnis and Claire Marie MacInnis.
Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class and the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post #71. Active Pallbearers will be Patrick Jackson, Len Carter, Rick Swanson, Duane Perry, Kyle Scaggs and Al Lown.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening from 5 until 7.
