Cpl. Jackie Joe Dixon
WARRENVILLE, SC - Funeral Services for Cpl. Jackie Joe Dixon, 76, who entered into rest peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends, September 6, 2016, will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. J. Roland Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens with Full Military Honors.
Jack was born September 9, 1939 in Wrightsville, GA to the late Oscar Dixon, Sr. and Kathleen McClelland. He was retired from the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country. During his service, he received a Good Conduct Medal and was a member of the Offensive Combat Marine Rifle Squad. Jack was an Engineer Equipment Mechanic which led him into his profession as a diesel mechanic for over 50 years. He retired from Augusta Transportation after 40 years of dedicated and loyal service. Jack never came across a problem he could not fix. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed fishing, drinking Coca-Cola and working in his yard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his bride of 51 years, Mary, who he lovingly referred to as his beloved "Charley;" his son, Kenneth Anthony Dixon; his brother, Fletcher Frances Dixon and his sister, Shirley Jean Moyer.
Survivors include his beloved daughter, Kimberly Ann Dixon (Billy); grandchildren, Casey Elizabeth Busbee, Kenneth Anthony Dixon Spoonemore, Kaitlyn Savannah Parrott and Sarah McKethan Monroe; great-grandchildren, Kingston Parrott, Kayden Spoonemore, Cole Spoonemore, Kalli Spoonemore; a brother, Oscar Dixon, Jr., a number of nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law, Judy Sauls, a brother-in-law, Charles Sauls; Tammy Broome, Caroline Clay and Gary Galloway, who he loved like his own children.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the current and former employees of Augusta Transportation. Active Pallbearers will be Robert Clay, Gary Galloway, Kenneth Spoonemore, Garrett Grice, Hilliard Galloway and Dean Moyer.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 until 8.

The Family would like to thank his caretaker, Theresa Murphy, for the love and compassion shown to him during this past month.
