AIKEN, SC - Funeral services for Jake Stone, 65, of Aiken, SC will be held twelve noon on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC. The family will receive friends from eleven a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC. The Reverends David Young and Jack Atkinson will be officiating. Members of the Long Branch Hunting Club will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be sent in Jake's memory to the , 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210-1790. Jake passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015.
Born in Aiken, SC he was a son of the late Callie Stone and Jeanette Leigh Stone. He worked in the maintenance department of Central Shops at the Savannah River Site for over 20 years. He was a graduate of Aiken High School Class of 1969, a member of the Long Branch Hunting Club, and received an Automotive Certification from Aiken Technical College. He was a US Army Veteran who served in the Army Reserve 450th Ordinance.
Survivors include his spouse, Lucy Mikell Stone of Aiken; daughter, Diane (Leon) Baughman of Ward, SC; sons, Earl (Sandy) Goff of Batesburg, Robert (Karen) Goff of Wagener; grandchildren, Bobby, Joseph, Aaron Goff, Ashely Thomas and Robert Earl Goff; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Jean Willis of Aiken, Karen (Mike) Wall of Williston; brother, Jackie Stone of Aiken and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Stone, Kelly Stone, and Johnny N. Leach.
