James Arthur Butler
AIKEN, SC - James Arthur Butler, 74, of Aiken, SC., died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Aiken Regional Medical Center in Aiken, SC.
Born February 11, 1942, in Chicago, IL. at the Swedish Covenant Hospital, Jim was a son of Ernest and Maude Evans Butler. He married Mary Sue Juett on July 11, 1965 in Quincy, IL. She survives.
Mr. Butler graduated in January of 1964 from Culver Stockton College in Canton, MO. with a bachelor's degree in business.
He was employed by Sears with numerous positions in the mid west (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio) including two positions in Sears corporate offices in Chicago. He retired at the age of 55 from managing a large Sears store in Salem, NH. Jim and his wife retired to Woodside Plantation in Aiken, SC. in September 1998.
Surviving in addition to his wife is a brother, Ernie Butler, Austin, TX.; his sister, Mary Ellen Wagner and her husband Hal, Montgomery City, MO.; his brother in law, John Juett, Clayton, IL.; five nieces, two nephews, and five great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton, IL. by Rev. Tom Robbins. Burial will follow at South Side Cemetery, Clayton, IL.
Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services at the Hamilton Funeral Home in Clayton, IL.
