James Gamble
AIKEN, SC - James Gamble, age 82, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2016.
Mr. Gamble was born February 15, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA to the late James and June Wohlar Gamble. He proudly served his country in the US Navy and retired as Plant
Supervisor from Ducane Heating in Blackville, SC. Mr. Gamble had made Aiken, SC his home since 1968. He enjoyed reading and being at home with his family. He loved his granddaughter with all of his heart.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gamble is preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Gamble.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Elaine Vreeland Gamble; a daughter, Jill Hucks (Stephen), Aiken, SC; a grand-daughter, Graham Hucks; two brothers, Jerry Gamble, North Haledon, NJ and Jack Gamble, Brant Lake, NY; and a sister, Denise Newmen, Aiken, SC.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:30 PM on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at George Funeral Home. A crypt side service will follow at 3:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, US Hwy. # 1, Langley, SC with Military Honors. The Rev. Dr. Henry Chennault will officiate.
