James Gossett
BEECHISLAND - Mr. James Roland Gossett, Jr., 86, known as "J.R.", of Beech Island, SC, husband of the late Constance Huggins Gossett, entered into rest on Monday, September 11th, 2017, in the comfort of his home.
Born in Orangeburg County, SC, he had been a resident of Springfield, SC, before relocating to Aiken County, SC, in 1974. A Korean War Veteran, he proudly and honorably served his county in the United States Army. He was a member of the former Heights Baptist Church and retired from Columbia Nitrogen, where he was an Instrumentation Technician. Mr. Gossett enjoyed making birdfeeders and making and fixing various things.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include a step-son, Ernest E. Scott, Sr., Springfield, SC; grandchildren, Crystal Scott and Ernest E. Scott, Jr. and his wife, Brandy, six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Friday, September 15th, 2017, from 1 until 1:45 at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A graveside service will follow at 2 o'clock in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC.
