James "Jim" Grant
BELVEDERE, SC - Mr. James "Jim" Grant, 80, husband of the late Anne Farnsworth Grant, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 4th, 2015.
Born in Greenville, SC and a resident of Belvedere, SC, since 1966, he was a son of the late Olin Harris and Ada Ruth Betsill Grant. Jim was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, Rock Hill, SC, where he was on the 1953 State Champions Football Team and held the state shot put record for many years. He was a 1958 Furman University graduate. He retired from Augusta Newsprint after thirty-five years of service. Jim was very active in the lives of his children, He coached his sons in little league sports, was involved when a son raced motocross, attended gymnastic meets with a daughter and enjoyed watching his granddaughters play sports, dance and be in pageants and was very active in his grandsons baseball career. Jim was an avid fisherman. Often he would get up at four o'clock to go fishing and not return home until dark.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include daughters, Cindy Grant Heath and her husband, Cubby, Aiken, SC, Traci Rozier, North Augusta, SC; sons, Doug Grant and his wife, Julie and Joel Grant and his wife, Roz, all of North Augusta, SC; siblings, Robert Harris Grant, Rock Hill, SC and Mary Anna Gravely and her husband, Phil, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Kristen Smith and her husband, Ross, Taylor Rozier, Stephanie Rozier, Kelly Grant, Haley Grant and Ashley Grant and a great-grandson, Grant Smith.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, August 14th, 2015, at 2 o'clock at the Anglican Church of the Holy Trinity, 160 Merovan Dr., North Augusta, SC, with the Reverend Robert Hartley officiating.

The family will greet friends following the service at the church.
