Jean (Chafin) Hunt
AIKEN, SC - Memorial Graveside Services for Mrs. Jean Chafin Curry Kaiser Hunt, 90, who entered into rest February 18, 2017, will be conducted Saturday morning at 11 o'clock in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pastor Sotello V. Long officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Jean was born in Logan, WV, the youngest of six children, and the daughter of the late Luemma and Tom Chafin. She moved to Aiken in 1952, and was retired from E. I. DuPont at Savannah River Plant. Jean was a member of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, where she served as church clerk and was a member of the Diaconate, a volunteer at ACTS for several years as a receptionists and delivered Meals on Wheels for the Aiken Area Council on Aging. Inc.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Curry, Albert H. Kaiser and Richard W. Hunt, her oldest daughter, Dr. Linda Jean Curry; three sisters; two brothers, including her brother, Elmo Chafin of Aiken, who died in 2005.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy Curry and Norman Toy, New Canaan, CT; a son, Jack M. Curry, Aiken; eight grandchildren, Celeste Holley Henderson, Martin Holley, Michael Toy, Jonathan Toy, Josh Curry, Jeremy Curry, Jessica Curry and Ali Curry; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces including Barbara Chafin Reeves.
