Jean Dynarski
AIKEN - Mrs. Jean Cowan "Jeanie" Dynarski, 70, beloved wife of Charles R. "Chuck" Dynarski, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2018.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 22, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church with Reverend Dr. Brian Coulter and the Reverend Holley Shoaf-O'Kula officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Jeanie was a native South Carolinian. She was born and raised in Rock Hill, SC to the late Robert Hope and Mary McElwee Cowan. She attended Winthrop Training School and was a graduate of Winthrop University. Jeanie shared her gift of teaching and her love for children as she taught for many years. Jeanie was an active member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as a Stephen Minister, Deacon, and youth group leader. She loved spending time outdoors and gardening. Jeanie was a Master Gardener and a member of the Country Gardeners Club. She was also a member of the Sand River Woman's Club.
Jeanie was a devoted wife and mother who always put family first. She was strong in her faith and always knew that she was a child of God. She loved spending time at the beach with girlfriends or watching her grandchildren play in the sand. Jeanie loved relaxing at their mountain house in North Carolina with her husband. She made entertaining look easy and loved throwing a party for family and friends. Jeanie had a servant's heart, quietly doing for others and never asking for anything in return.
In addition to her husband, Jeanie is survived by her two daughters, Anna Dynarski (John) Moorman, Sumter, SC; Mary Hope (Derry) Burns III, Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Caroline Moorman, Mary Taylor Moorman, Anna Burns, Parker Burns, William Burns and a brother, Ross (Melissa) Cowan of Kiawah Island, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials made in Jeanie's name may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Ave., NW, Aiken, SC 29801 or to the Thornwell Home for Children, 302 South Broad St., Clinton, SC 29325.
