AIKEN, SC - Mr. John Wayne Fox, 71, entered into rest on Thursday, October 15, 2015, while doing what he loved best, fishing at Clark Hill Lake.
Born in and a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life, he was a son of the late William Anderson Fox and the late Virginia Cooper Owens. A Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was awarded two Purple Heart Medals for his honorable and meritorious service. He retired from Bradley Heating & Plumbing, Aiken, SC. John enjoyed fishing at Clark Hill Lake with his companion of twelve years, Monica Moore Marzullo. He also enjoyed making folks happy, telling bad jokes and was known for his famous grilled cheese sandwiches.
In addition to his parents and his companion, family members include daughter, Miranda Lee Fox and her companion, Phil Rundle, Austin, TX; brother, William Anderson Fox, Jr. and his wife, Ingrid, Hendersonville, NC; niece, Christina Fox Ross, Hendersonville, NC; uncle, Ralph Fox, Aiken, SC; aunt, Nina Cooper Phillips, Aiken, SC and
Christine Marzullo, North Augusta, SC, who was like a daughter to him.
A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2015, at 4 o'clock at the Parksville Recreation Area, Parksville, SC.
The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Remembering Scotty Craig, P.O. Box 7817 North Augusta, SC 29861.
