Johncie S. Mendenhall
BATH, S.C. - Mrs. Johncie Smith Mendenhall, 81, formerly of Bryan Drive, entered into rest February 28, 2014 in Frisco, TX. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Old Storm Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Irvin, Sr., officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Mendenhall, a native of Bennetttsville, S.C., was a retired educator from the Orangeburg, Richmond and Aiken County public schools. She was a Claflin University Alumnae. She was a member and deaconess of Old Storm Branch Baptist Church and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Survivors include three daughters, Marian Patricia Simmons (Ray), Linda A. Mendenhall-Cooper (Stanley) and Kim Evette Key (James); two sisters, Gwendolyn white (Monroe) and Wilhemenia Brown (Matthew); five grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
