Johnny Weimortz
WILLISTON, SC - Funeral services for John Neil "Johnny" Weimortz, Jr., 72, of Williston, SC will be held at three p.m., Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend Floyd Dukes officiating. The family will receive friends from one-thirty p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be sent to the Williston Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 367, Williston, SC 29853. Johnny passed away Thursday, June 2, 2016.
Born in Elko, SC he was the son of the late John Neil Weimortz, Sr. and Jennie Bates Weimortz. Johnny retired having owned and operated Weimortz Trucking Company for a number of years. He was a master craftsman who enjoyed tinkering in his shop refinishing old cars and working on heavy equipment. He formerly worked as Chief of Police for Elko, as a patrolman for Williston Police Department and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. Johnny was a man of few words who loved his family beyond measure.
Survivors include his wife, Raine Horton Weimortz; daughters, Brenna Irie Weimortz, both of the home, Julie Lynn Weimortz of Augusta, GA; granddaughter, Brianna Weimortz and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Jeneil W. Tarrance, Mary Ellen Weimortz and infant twin sons.
