WILLISTON, SC - Funeral services for Joseph Wilson Risher, 88, of Williston, SC will be held two-thirty p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2015 at Old Fashion Christian Ministries; interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior the funeral at the church on Sunday. Memorial contributions may be directed to Old Fashion Christian Ministries, 4735 Williston Road, Williston, SC 29853.
Born in Dorchester County, SC, a son of the late Van Buren and Rebecca Myers Risher. He recently lost his devoted wife of 62 years, Audrey Nettles Risher. He served in the Merchant Marines and retired with more than 30 years of service as a Reactor Operator in P-Area at E. I. DuPont. He was a member of Old Fashion Christian Ministries, was instrumental in the establishment and building of the church and numerous other church projects.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Dennis L. and Peggy R. Glover and Fred W. and Debra R. Hammers of Williston, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Ida Risher of Charleston, SC and his grandchildren, Melanie H. (Jim) Sanders, Valerie H. (Darryl) Wise, Joshua L (Jeannette) Hammers, Sarah H. (Alex) Osbon, Travis S. (Shawn) Glover, Angel R. (Tony) Giamo; brother Charles Risher; sisters, Ruby Browning and Imogene (Jimmy) Way and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
