MARTINEZ - MSG. Kevin Patrick Johnson, 39, of Martinez, GA, beloved husband of twenty-four years to Mrs. Florrie Kim Simkins Johnson, entered into rest on Saturday, October 7th, 2017.
Born in Germany and a resident of the CSRA since 1997, he was Career Soldier. He proudly and with honor, served his county in the United States Army for 21 and one-half years, earning the rank of Master Sergeant. MSG Johnson participated in several operations and campaigns such as Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom and was deployed to Kuwait, Afghanistan, Korea, Bosnia, Poland, Iraq and several more locations, most being combat missions. MSG. Johnson was a true American Hero. He enjoyed working on his "dream car", "Eleanor".
In addition to his wife, family members include his children, Angel Simpkins-Johnson, Martinez, GA and the late Holden Eugene Johnson, his much loved mother-in-law, who was more like a mother to him, Nyoka Hazel Wall, Martinez, GA, brothers and their spouses, Richard E. and Stacy Lilly and David W. Kaney, all of Martinez, GA, nephew, Jackson Lilly and niece, Skylar Lilly Sanders.
The family will greet friends on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, beginning at 1 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3 o'clock in the chapel. Pastor Chris Williams will officiate. Interment with full military honors accorded by a United States Army Honor Guard will follow in Langley Cemetery, Langley, SC.
