Rev. Larry O. Gregory
GRANITEVILLE, SC - Rev. Larry O. Gregory, age 66, of Graniteville, S.C., son of the late Leonard Gregory and the late Mary Powell Gregory entered into eternal rest on the Lord's Day, Sunday, January 18, 2015.
He is survived by a daughter, Charlene (Chris) Whittle of Aiken, S.C,; a son Marc
(Krystle) Gregory of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, Jack (Joyce) Gregory of Jackson, S.C.; grandchildren, Christopher Whittle, Liam Gregory and Makenzie Gregory; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Carly Whittle and a niece, Lecia Rikard.
He was born in Langley, S.C. and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a US Army 1st Cav, Division Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of LBC American Legion Post #153. He was very involved with his LBC High School Class of 1967. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church in Couchton, S.C. He was a devoted dad, granddaddy and friend to all. He had a wonderful personality and loved to talk and make jokes with everyone. Above all, he was a man who put God first in his life. Even with being confined to a wheelchair and other medical issues, he still went the extra mile to witness and win souls to Jesus. This was truly his mission in life. There are many of us that can truly say that they are blessed for having known Larry Gregory. Yes, he set a good Christian example for his fellowman to follow. He shall be greatly missed by his family and all whose lives he touched during the 66 precious years that God granted him on this earth. He has just made that great transition to his new Heavenly Home where life and love never ends in a land where all is joy and peace.
A memorial service, celebrating his life and home going will be held at Langley United Methodist Church in Langley, S.C. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 3:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 PM until the hour of service. The interment will be private.
