LaTaya Femeko Corbitt
Funeral services for Mrs. LaTaya Femeko Corbitt, affectionately called "Tonya", age 41, of 749 Old Whiskey Rd, N, will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 5415 Wagener Rd, Wagener, SC with Reverend Louise Rice, Presiding and Reverend James E. Reynolds, Pastor Emeritus, Eulogist. Burial will follow in SouthLawn Cemetery, Aiken.
She was the daughter of Gladys Thompson-Butler and Michael Arnold Huff. At an early age, she joined Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Wagener, SC. She was baptized by Rev. James E. Reynolds. Tonya graduated in 1992 from Aiken High School and was employed as Head Teller for First Citizens Bank and Trust in New Ellenton, SC and in Beech Island, SC. She was also the President of the School Improvement Board of New Ellenton Middle School and was a Notary Public until her health declined.
She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Anthony "Tony"
Corbitt on October 28, 1995. To this union, two children were born: daughter, Kaylin Symone and son, Desmond
Anthony. Tonya departed this life, Friday, April 3, 2015 at her residence when God asked an angel to bring one of His earth angels home.
In addition to her father, Michael Huff, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Harry Butler; her maternal grandfather, James Thompson; and her paternal grandmother, Maggie Huff.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Anthony "Tony" Corbitt; her daughter, Kaylin Symone Corbitt and her son, Desmond Anthony Corbitt; her mother, Gladys Thompson-Butler; her brothers, Harry Authur Butler, Jr. and Michael Perry; her grandmothers, Orine Thompson and Alice Butler; her grandfather, Walter Huff; her mothers-in-law, Lena Corbitt and Valerie Meyers-Roberson; and other relatives.
Active Pallbearers will be Mario Thompson, Brandon Thomas, Charles White, Jr, Roosevelt Isom, III, Reggie Harris, and Anthony B. White. Honorary Pallbearer will be Kyle L. Rapp.
She will lie in state at the church at 10 AM. The procession will assemble at the residence by 10AM.
