WILLISTON, SC - Funeral services for Leon Tony "L.T." Keenan, 84, of Williston, SC will be held at three p.m., Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC; burial will be in the Mt. Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery, Windsor, SC.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given in L. T.'s memory to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, P.O. Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648-1178 or to the
, Memorial & Honor Program, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. L.T.'s family would like to thank the Professional Case Management and Regency Hospice for all of the care they have shown to him over these past several months. L. T. passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2016.
Born in Aiken County, SC he was a son of the late Tony Keenan and Josephine Garvin Keenan. He was a member of Edisto Baptist Church and retired as a Senior Reactor Operator from E. I. DuPont at the Savannah River Site.
In 1997, he was recognized as Williston Citizen of the Year; he was instrumental in organizing the Williston Rescue Squad and was a faithful volunteer from the mid 1970's to 2000.
L. T. enjoyed riding his motorcycle, bird watching and had a love for all animals. L. T. had a deep love for his family and he enjoyed spending time with them; he will be missed beyond measure.
Survivors include his daughters, Rhonda Keenan Toole and her husband Dale of Barnwell, Lisa Keenan Massengale and her husband Robbie of Williston; sister, LaVerne Keenan Barnes Bonnette of Williston; grandchildren Nick, Jordan, Jared and Nathaniel Toole, Melissa M. (Nick) Owens, Zachary and Cameron Massengale; great grandson Parker Owens; a number of nieces and nephews and his dog peanut.
