BEECH ISLAND - Mr. Leroy Dunn, Sr., age 88, widower of Mrs. Margaret Jackson Dunn, entered eternal life Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at CM Tucker Nursing Center, Columbia, SC.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 130 Independent Blvd, Talatha Community, Aiken, SC with Rev. CA Scott, officiating. Burial will follow in the Dunn Cemetery, near Park Baptist Church, 144 Douglas Drive, Beech Island.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James G. and Daisy Hall Dunn, his devoted wife, Margaret Jackson Dunn, his brothers, Henry Dunn and James Dunn, his sisters, Mary Scott and Elease Mack.
A native of Aiken County, he was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a truck driver for Kimberly Clark Corporation, a member of Taft Masonic Lodge # 282, and the Shriners. For many years, he served as Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troop #206.
Survivors include: two sons, Leroy Dunn, Jr. Beech Island, SC and Donald M. Dunn (Angela ), Blythewood, SC; two grandsons, Donald J Dunn and Bradley J Dunn; three sisters, Ruth Little, Brooklyn, NY, Daisy Bethea and Betty Harrrison, both of Beech Island, SC; two brothers, Nathaniel Dunn, Beech Island, SC and Thomas Dunn, Long Island, NY; other relatives and friends.
Mr. Dunn will lie in state at the church from 10 AM until the hour of service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-7 PM.
