Loretta Lavender
LEXINGTON, SC - Loretta Lavender died Tuesday, December 29, 2015, after battling Parkinson's disease. Born in Fleming County, Kentucky on December 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Virgil and Gertrude McClurg. She is survived by her daughters Pamela Gibson of Chapin, Sharon Brodie (George) of Aiken, and Deborah McDermet (Mark) of Lexington, and her sister Jean Walters and brother Jerry McClurg (Wanda) of Kentucky. She is also survived by her granddaughter Melanie Heisley (Jason) and great-grandsons Dale and Logan Touchet of Little Mountain.
Loretta was active in the Legal Secretaries Association for many years and was a member of St. Andrews Baptist Church. She will be remembered fondly by her family as a kind and generous woman. A private memorial service will be held in her honor in Kentucky at a later date. Anyone desiring to give something in remembrance of Loretta should donate to the National Parkinson Foundation.
