MARGARET CLAXTON RUSHTON
AIKEN, SC - Margaret Claxton Rushton, 96, widow of J. W.Rushton, died Friday, October 24, 2014 at Pepper Hill Nursing Center.
A native of Ridge Spring, SC, Margaret was a daughter of the late Lewis Jefferson and Mattie Scott Claxton.
She lived most of her life in Aiken County and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Rushton was a member of Aiken's First Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and Circle leader.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Snipes, Aiken; a son,Larry (Bambi) Rushton, St. George, SC; four grandchildren, Wayne B. Snipes,Wallace M. Snipes, Angela R. (Ben)Taylor, Shane J. (Wendy) Rushton; two step-grandchildren, Jason (Ashley) Burbage, Daniel (Kelley) Burbage; nine great-grandchildren, Dillon (Brandie) Snipes, Alex Snipes, Ainsley Rushton, Drew Rushton, Amy Taylor, Emory Taylor, Campbell Burbage, Henry Burbage, John Colin Burbage; three great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Monday morning, October 27th beginning at 10 o'clock in the Parlor at Aiken's First Baptist Church followed by the Funeral Service at 11 o'clock.
The Rev. Fred W. Andrea III will officiate. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Snipes,Dillon Snipes, Shane Rushton, Ben Taylor, Wallace Snipes and Scott Stiles.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Aiken's First Baptist Church or to a .
