CANTON, Ga. - Margaret Deans Karelitz, September 20, 1951-August 27, 2017
Margaret (Peggy) Deans Karelitz, 65, passed away on August 27, 2017. Peggy, daughter of Parker and Marie Deans, grew up in Aiken, attended St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church, and graduated from Aiken High School. She worked as a legal assistant for many years, finally settling in the Atlanta area in 1990, where she devoted herself to her family, her friends, and her passion for helping others.
Mrs. Karelitz is survived by her husband, Richard; two daughters, Faith DuBose and Jennifer Flannagan; her sister, Catherine (Jay) Deans Bagwell; five grandchildren, Patrick (Brittany), Kylee, Parker, Tarver, and Brenna; and four great-grandchildren.
She leaves behind many friends and family who are truly heartbroken by this loss, but she also leaves a legacy of generosity and love that will live on in her spirit.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 1:00 p.m., in the chapel at Memorial Ecosystems, in Westminster, SC. Interment will follow at Ramsey Creek Nature Preserve. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration or the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation.
