Marge E. Willson
KEIZER, Ore. - Margaret E. Willson (nee Somogyi) of Keizer, Oregon & Puerta Vallerta, Mexico passed away on Friday, December 29th. Beloved daughter of the late Frank & Margaret Somogyi (of Hillside, New Jersey; Pine Island, Florida; and Snellville, Georgia), beloved sister of Arlene Romero (of Graniteville, South Carolina) and Brenda Baratto (of Aiken, South Carolina), beloved aunt of Christian Baratto (of Lilburn, Georgia) and Sara Hobbs (of North Augusta, South Carolina), beloved great-aunt of Ella & Wyatt Johnson (of North Augusta, South Carolina) and Morgan, Murphy & Miles Baratto (of Lilburn, Georgia), and beloved friend of many was born on July 15, 1942 in Newark, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Hillside High School (Hillside, New Jersey) and a student of the world travelling as she did to many countries and continents.
A warrior in the battle against breast cancer, Marge waged her own personal battle against the disease for 30+ years before succumbing to it in her home in Keizer. In her typical style, she would not be done in until she completed a 75th birthday wish to celebrate that milestone with family and friends in a Tuscan villa in Italy in September.
Marge leaves behind a grieving family who are consoled by the fact that her suffering is over and many friends and "family" who will remember her with the love and laughter that she shared with them.
A Mass in her honor will be held on January 9, 2017 at 1:30 PM at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Keizer, Oregon. A second Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Hillside, New Jersey at a later date. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Hillside, New Jersey. Assisting the family is Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service.
