Marion Neal
CLEARWATER, SC - Mr. Marion L. Neal, 83, beloved husband of sixty-four years to Mrs. LaRose Godbee Neal, entered into rest on Monday, January 2, 2017.
Born in Ware Shoals, SC, a son of the late James Duncan Neal, Sr. and Laura Hogan Neal, he had been a resident of Aiken County, SC, most of his life. He retired from the Gregg Division of the Graniteville Company, where he was a Millwright. Mr. Neal was a dedicated member of Langley First Baptist Church, where he was involved with the Baptismal Committee and Sunday School. He enjoyed fishing and making blankets for cancer patients.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Angela Croft and her husband, Gene, West Columbia, SC and the late Randy Marion Neal, a daughter-in-law, who Mr. Neal thought of more as a daughter, Peggy Neal Thompson, Beech lsland, SC; a grandson, Shawn Neal, Sr. and his wife, Amanda and great-grandchildren, Shawn Neal, Jr., Teresa Wyche and Brandi Neal.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13, 2017, from 5 until 7 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy., Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2016, at 1 o'clock at Langley First Baptist Church, Langley, SC, with Pastor Ken Garvin officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Gregg Cato, Clifford Rushton, Forrest Dicks, John Dicks, Larry Latta and Buck Wilson.
The family has asked that memorials in memory of Mr. Neal be made to Langley First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 321 Langley, SC 29834.
