Mary Carpenter Faulkner
Graniteville, S.C. - Mary Carpenter Faulkner, age 86, of Graniteville, S.C., wife of the late Gary S. Faulkner, Sr. and daughter of the late Walton H. Carpenter and the late Nellie M. Sorgee Carpenter, answered God's call and went to be with Jesus on Monday, March 17, 2014.
She is survived by daughters, Felicia Faulkner of Graniteville, S.C. and Carol F. (David) Burton of Aiken, S.C.; sons, Gary F. Faulkner, Jr. of Graniteville, S.C. and Paul (Sue) Faulkner of Plum Branch, S.C.; Grandchildren, Beth Crabb, Michael Burton, Jon Paul Faulkner, Gary Faulkner, III, Jennifer Strickland, Christopher Faulkner, Chad Wall and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Carpenter.
She was born in and was a lifelong resident of Graniteville, S.C. She retired from Graniteville Company as a Shipping Clerk. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who shall be greatly missed by her family and all whose lives she touched during the 86 precious years that God granted her on this earth. She was a kind precious lady with a beautiful smile who will never be forgotten, as memories of her shall live on forever in the hearts of her friends and loved ones.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 3:00 PM at St. John United Methodist Church in Graniteville with Rev. Alan Quarles officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery. The Pallbearers will be Michael Burton, Chad Wall, Melz Faulkner, Tim Crabb, Tyler Crabb and Allen Hayes. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her honor, may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 38, Graniteville, S.C. 29829. Napier Funeral Home, Inc., 315 Main Street, Graniteville, S.C. 29829 is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
