Memorial Services for Mr. Mert Holtzhouser, 82, who entered into rest April 21, 2015 will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock from Belvedere First Baptist Church with Veterans Honors. Dr. Roy Head and Rev. John Meyer officiating.
Mr. Holtzhouser was a native of Malden, Missouri, having made North Augusta his home for the past 40 years. He was a member of Belvedere First Baptist Church, the church choir and formerly sang in a men's quartet. Mr. Holtzhouser was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a Bailiff in Aiken County and enjoyed traveling and camping.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Evelene Holtzhouser; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dean and Beverly Holtzhouser, Hawkinsville, GA, and Eddie and Lynn King, Marietta, GA; three daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen Metcalf, St. Ann, MO, Kyle and Allen Ciancola, St. Ann, MO, and Toni and Ronnie Toole, North Augusta, SC; seven grandchildren, Michael Metcalf, Shane Metcalf, Abigail Holtzhouser, Kevin Toole, Jennifer Hadden, Joshua King and Carter King; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Barron, Peachtree City, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Joe Schmidt Sunday School Class and Bailiffs from the Aiken County Courthouse.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
