Millie Burnette
CLEARWATER, SC - Mrs. Millie Burnette, 87, wife of nearly sixty-six years to the late Louis "Speck" Burnette, entered into rest on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016, in Spartanburg, SC, where she had relocated to four years ago, to be closer to her son, Don and his wife, Freda.
Born in and a resident of Aiken County, SC, until four years ago, she was a daughter of the late Joel Jewette and Popie Attaway Rushton. She retired from the Clearwater Finishing Plant and was a member of Bath First Baptist Church, where she was active in WMU. After she relocated to the upstate, she attended First Baptist Church of North Spartanburg. Miss Millie enjoyed cooking and traveling. More than anything however, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, Angela Duncan and her husband, Jason, Stephen Burnette, Colby Burnette and his wife, Krisi, Jeffrey Burnette and Cassie Godfrey and her husband, Josh.
In addition to her husband, son and daughter-in-law and parents and grandchildren, family members include siblings, Jeanette Emeneker, North Augusta, SC and the late Jack "Buck" Rushton and great-grandchildren, Becky Duncan, Josie Duncan, Gabi Duncan, Cameron Duncan, Hayden Duncan, Cole Burnette, Millie Burnette, Lauren Burnette, Triniti Burnette and Ryan Bear Godfrey.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 6th, 2016, at 1 o'clock in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC, with Pastor Herb Sons officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the graveside on Sunday.
If so desired, memorials may be made to Bath
First Baptist Church. ( or Regional Hospice of Spartanburg. (
The family will greet friends following the service on Sunday at the graveside.
