Patricia Wood Haas
EAGLE RIVER, AK - Patricia Wood Haas, 69, of Eagle River, Alaska passed away at Providence Hospital on July 1, 2014 from a prolonged illness.
Patricia was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on September 6, 1945. She graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science degree from Campbell College in North Carolina. Shortly after, she married her childhood sweetheart and life-long companion, Milton Haas. Pat and Milt traveled the world with the United States Air Force but fell in love with Alaska during a short stay at Elmendorf Air Force Base in the early 1970s. They were able to return to Alaska with the military in 1983 and have been residents ever since.
Patricia was known to many friends and family as Mama Haas for her caring and generous nature. She enjoyed family events and spending quality time with her family. She also enjoyed cooking, reading and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Milton Haas, of 47 years, her two sons, David Haas (Jackie), and Steven Haas (Jara), and three grandchildren, Emma, Daniel, and Logan, whom she loved dearly. Additional survivors include her brothers: Mike, George, Greg, and Don.
