Paul Wilford Swygert
LEESVILLE - Leesville-Services for Paul Wilford Swygert, 79, will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 11, 2017 at Leesville United Methodist Church with burial to follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Saturday June 10, 2017 at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Leesville UMC.
Mr. Swygert passed away Thursday June 8, 2017. Born in Lexington County, he was the son of the late William Carl and Sadie Louise Craps Swygert. He was a retired First Sergeant with the B-L Army National Guard with 38 years of service and was a member of the retired NCO Club. Mr. Swygert was a member of Leesville UMC where he was a former member of the Board and was a member of the Lexington and Saluda Cattleman's Association. He was a former member of the B-L Rotary, the B-L Jaycees and the Ponderosa Country Club.
He is survived by his sons, Paul R. (DeeDee) Swygert and Chris (Robbin) Swygert, daughter, Nancy Beth (Fletcher) Burgess, brother, Charles W. Swygert, sisters, Linda Shealy and Carnell Smith, 6 grandsons, Heath (Danielle) Burgess, Clay Burgess, Ryan Swygert, Chase Swygert, Wills Swygert and Patrick Swygert.He was pre-deceased by his wife, Nancy Rawls Swygert
