Mr. R. Benton Bryant
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - Graveside Services for Mr. R. Benton Bryant, 85, who entered into rest January 16, 2015 will be conducted Monday morning at 11 o'clock in the Louisville City Cemetery, Louisville, GA. Rev. Andy Carter officiating.
Mr. Bryant was a native of Louisville, GA, having made North Augusta his home for the past 62 years. He was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from E.I. DuPont with 37 years of service. Mr. Bryant was a member of Belvedere United Methodist Church where he served as a Greeter, was past president of the Men's Group and handled technical and computer issues for the church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who enjoyed fishing, hunting with his brothers and grandsons, playing golf and boating at the lake. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Bryant, a son-in-law, William H. Scott, Sr., a great-granddaughter, Sara Nicole Willoughby and two brothers, Ernest and Billy Bryant.
Survivors include a daughter, Angie Scott Boyd (Hugh), North Augusta, SC; a brother, Robert Bryant, Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, William H. Scott, Jr. (Amanda), Kelli Willoughby and Ben Scott (Dede), six great grandchildren, Will, Laura, CJ, Addison, Taylor and Jordan.
Pallbearers will be David Bryant, Mark Bryant, Barry Bryant, Mike Bryant, Chris Veal and Vasey Reece.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Sunday evening from 5 until 7.
