Raymond Phillips
AIKEN, SC - Raymond W. Phillips, age 89, of Aiken, S.C., loving husband for 65 years to Nina Cooper Phillips and son of the late Walter R. Phillips and the late Irene Hubbs Phillips, entered into rest and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 29, 2017.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters; Sandra (Gerald) O'Banion and Amy Phillips both of Aiken, S.C.; sons, Randy Phillips, Garith Phillips, Stanton (Janice) Phillips, Richard Phillips and David Phillips all of Aiken, S.C.; fourteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
He was born in Greenville, Michigan but has been a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a retired Area Supervisor with E. I. Dupont. He was a US Army Veteran, having bravely served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He had a great personality, and he loved everybody, which yielded him many friends. Above all, he was a very Christian person who loved his Lord supremely. He had a Godlike spirit, as he would do anything for anybody if possible. A man of his caliber shall be greatly missed by his family, many friends and all whose lives he touched during the 89 precious years that God granted him on this earth. Death is not the end, as he is now in that Heavenly place where the soul of man never dies, and fond memories of him shall live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones.
A service, celebrating his life and homegoing, will be held in the Chapel of Napier Funeral Home on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM with Bishop Philip Sirk officiating. The interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Pallbearers will be Garith Phillips, II, Stanton Phillips, II, Joseph Phillips, Joshua Phillips, Jacob Phillips and Clay O'Banion.
