AIKEN, SC - Richard "Dick" Daughenbaugh beloved husband of Doris A. Daughenbaugh passed quietly into the arms of the presence of his loving Savior on March 11, 2015.
Dick was born in North Industry, OH the second of three children of Floren S Daughenbaugh and Opal (Lawther) Daughenbaugh. Survived by the love of his life for 63 years Doris and four children Cyndy Malavite (Mike), East Sparta, OH; Ric Daughenbaugh (Marsha), Shelby, NC; Faye Weigle (Jack), Irmo, SC; Jean Meshey (Allen), Aiken, SC. Also his sister Vera Wise (Richard), Uniontown, OH and brother Gary Daughenbaugh (Lue), Charleston, SC. Others surviving are 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents and grandchildren Meredith R Meshey, Nathaniel I Meshey and Matthew M Malavite.
He graduated from Timken High School in Canton, OH in 1947. Trained as a master machinist he later worked as a tool design engineer retiring from FMC Ordnance in Aiken, SC. He settled in Aiken, SC in 1972 moving from Canton, OH.
Dick was a very active member in Christ's Way Christian Church, Aiken SC and he especially loved singing in the choir. He suffered a major stroke in 1987 but it never slowed him down. He continued to be active up until the time of his death. He will be remembered for his smile, sense of humor, gentile character and love for his wife and family.
Services will be held at Grace Church of Aiken, 144 Talatha Church Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 at 10:00AM Saturday, March 14, 2015. Visitation immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be given to Christ's Way Christian Church, 183 Old Wagener Rd. Aiken, SC 29801.
