Richard "Hoover" Boothe
WINDSOR, S.C. - Services for Richard "Hoover" Dewitt Boothe, 83, of Windsor, SC will be held one p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC with the Reverend David Palmer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 4384 Williston Road, Williston, SC 29853. Hoover passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014.
Born in Peterstown, WV, he was a son of the late Charles Edgar and Fleda Myrtle Schultz Boothe. In 1989, he retired from the US Forestry Service after 34 years of service. He spent the next 14 years with Aiken County Recycling until 2010. Hoover was a US Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where he was active in various committees.
Survivors include his wife, Remonia C. Lowe Boothe; daughters, Debbie (Lee) Hart, Tina (Richard) Malin; son, Richard Carlton (Olivia) Boothe; step-daughter, Vicky (Wayne) Pless; step-sons, Tony (Donice) Holley, Jerry (Gail) Holley; brother, David Houston "Housie" (Doris) Boothe; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Florence Wilson, Nellie Tabor, Mary Meadows; brothers, James "Ed" Boothe, Oather "Oat" Boothe, Charles "Ottie" Boothe, John "Carl" Boothe and Aubrey "Orb" Boothe.
