Robert L. Hatfield
AIKEN, SC - Mr. Robert L. Hatfield, 87, passed away Friday, May 22, 2015.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM Saturday, May 30 at Trinity United Methodist Church. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Dr. Larry Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Crawford, Jason Crawford, Jerry King, Joe Smith, Bob Cathcart, Jack Meyers, Danny Herring, and Ken Kearse.
Mr. Hatfield was born in Logan County, WV, a son of the late Robert L. Chambers and Elsie M. Hatfield. He moved to Aiken 20 years ago from Maryland, and was a former assembly line worker for the Chrysler Corporation. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for 14 years and was very active in the church.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Eleanor Cox
Hatfield; a daughter, Barbara (Paul) Crawford, Elkton, MD; three grandchildren, R. Jason Crawford, Jeremy Crawford, LeeAnna (Ryan) Fullis; four great-grandchildren, Rylea Crawford, Chace Crawford, Madelyn Fullis, and Bailee Fullis; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Eloise Grimmett, and a brother, Ronald C.
Hatfield.
