BEECH ISLAND, SC - Mr. Ronald Eddie
"Ronnie" Johnson, 65, of Beech Island, SC, beloved husband of thirty-six years to Mrs. Sue Johnson, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, following a brave and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Camp Gordon, GA and an area resident most of his life, he was a son of the late Daniel Eddie Johnson and the late Frontis Hutto Walling. He was a retired owner/operator Truck Driver. A devout Christian, he was an active member of Clearwater First Baptist Church and led bible study at two local nursing homes. Ronnie enjoyed a round of golf and wetting a hook.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Vonda Kaye Mabala, North Augusta, SC and Stacy Maxwell, Beech Island, SC; step-son, Michael Willard, Pickens, SC; siblings, Janet Wood and her husband, Jimmie, Warrenville, SC, Patricia Riley, Oak Island, NC, Sandra Massie and her husband, Richard, Newport News, VA and Robert Shipman and his wife, Brenda, Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Ashley Nicole Williams and Cierra Taylor Williams and twin great-grandchildren, Colton Michael and Jolene Nicole Sims.
The family will greet friends on Monday, April 3, 2017, beginning at noon at Clearwater First Baptist Church, Clearwater, SC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1 o'clock. Pastors John Bolin and Earl Carter will officiate. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Gardens, North Augusta, SC.
Due to Ronnie's love for his church, the family has asked that memorials be made to Clearwater First Baptist Church. (
