Roy E. Grover, Sr.
GRANITEVILLE, SC - Mr. Roy E. Grover, Sr., age 66, of Graniteville, S.C., loving husband for 48 years to Annette Bridges Grover and son of the late Walter Lee Grover, Sr. and the late Helen Lowe Grover, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 13, 2016.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Roy Grover, Jr. of Augusta, Ga. and Christopher Lee Grover of Warrenville, S.C.; daughters, Melinda (Tony) Johnson of Aiken, S.C. and Melissa Hawkins of Burnettetown, S.C.; a brother, Paul Grover of Aiken, S.C.; a sister, Annie Gunter of Graniteville, S.C.; twelve grandchildren; Madison, Chris, Casey, Stacy, Heather, Dylan, Brandon, Royce, Americus, Andrea, Reagan and Ashtian and three great grandchildren.
He was born in and was a lifelong resident of Aiken County, S.C. He was of the Baptist Faith. During his working years, he worked for Graniteville Company. His family stated that he was an avid fisherman and jokester.
His hobby was carpentry and if you could dream it, he could make it.
They further stated that he loved his family, especially his grandchildren, and that he had a "Heart of Gold". He would literally give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. A man of his caliber shall be greatly missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched during the 66 precious years that God granted him on this earth. Death is not the end as he has just made that great transition to his new Heavenly home where all is joy and peace and no sad goodbyes are ever spoken. "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord."
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Monday evening, October 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
A service, celebrating his life and home going, will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Bible Faith Holiness Church in Aiken, S.C. with Rev. Eddie Moyer officiating. The interment will follow at the Graniteville Cemetery in Graniteville, S.C.
