Salisbury, NC - Sarah Small Bennett Bailey, 84, of Salisbury, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born January 7, 1930 in Guilford County, the daughter of the late Sam Frank Small and Verna Williams Small.
She was a graduate of Boyden High School. Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker who loved her church family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by first husband, Craig Denniston Bennett, Sr. and second husband, James A. Bailey.
Those left to cherish her memories are sons, Craig Denniston (Elaine) Bennett, Jr. of Aiken, SC and Chris (Sharon) Bennett of Lexington; daughters, Vickie Bennett of Salisbury and Kelly (Thomas) Hall of Raleigh; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren and a number of step-children.
The family would like to thank the doctors and the staff in the ICU at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for the wonderful care given to their mother.
Visitation: 1:00 -2:00 PM Friday May 9 at Park Avenue United Methodist Church; 500 Park Avenue; Salisbury. Service to follow at 2:30 PM with the Rev. Anna Mandelstamm and the Rev. Kevin House officiating . Burial to follow at Rowan Memorial Park.
