Shawn O'Neil Sparling
AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. Shawn O'Neil Sparling, 54, husband of Mrs. Jerrie O'Banion Sparling, of Glenwood Drive, Aiken, SC, entered into rest on Friday. July 25th, 2014.
Shawn was born in Greensboro, NC to the late Harold and Louise Brucks Sparling. He was a technician with Aiken Department of Public Safety and had worked for Augusta Newsprint. He was a member of the United Steelworkers Local #983. Shawn enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was fishing, hiking, landscaping or traveling.
Surviving with his wife Jerrie, are two children, Tara Buffett (Matt), of Graniteville, SC and Ryan Sparling (Emily), of Aiken, SC; his beloved sisters, Clara Treadway (Frank), of Kershaw, SC and Helen Melton (Larry), of Phenix City, AL; his brothers, John Sparling, of Arizona, Michael Sparling, Atlanta, GA and dearest brother, Patrick Sparling, of Cross Hill, SC and four grandchildren, Madison Buffett, Reagan Buffett, Piper Buffett and Connor Sparling.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 6 o'clock at Grace Covenant Church of God New Ellenton, SC with Rev. Manuel Gunter officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Appalachian Bear Rescue, P.O. Box 364, Townsend, TN 37882.
The family will greet friends at the church immediately following the service.
