Shirley Ann Brown
GRANITEVILLE, SC - Mrs. Shirley Ann Brown, 79, widow of the late William Tracy Brown, Sr. of Graniteville, left this world and went to live with our Savior on November 26, 2015.
Born February 8, 1936 in Greenville, SC, she was the daughter of the late Grover Jones and Mary Hill Jones. An Air Force wife since the 1950's, Shirley lived a full life abroad with her family then, after her husband's military retirement, moved to this area in 1972. She served our community in many different professional capacities including ones at Graniteville Company, Vocational Rehabilitation of Aiken, Aiken Regional Medical Center, Free Medical Clinic of Aiken and Right At Home.
Her civic contributions included Rotary Club of Aiken where she was a Paul Harris Fellow, The , United Way and The South Carolina Silver Haired Legislature among others.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, her parents, and her children, Deborah Elizabeth Conway, Bill Brown and Mark Brown.
She will be remembered by her brother, Joe Hill Jones and his wife Janet of Fountain Inn, brother- in- law, Tommy Brantley and his wife Carolyn of Graniteville, children, Rebecca Albright and her husband John of Graniteville, Stephanie Killian and her husband Tim of Lexington, her grandchildren, Marc Clifford, Isabella Brown and Nicholas Killian, her great-grandchildren, Sarah and Steven Clifford, and a host of many friends and other family members who will sincerely miss her beautiful smile and loving demeanor.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at her beloved church home, Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene, 3526 Jefferson Davis Highway, Clearwater SC 29822, on Saturday, December 5th at 12 Noon with Pastor Kyle Poole officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
