Thomas Morris
BEECHISLAND - Mr. Thomas E. "Tommy" Morris, 64, entered into rest in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, July 11th, 2017, with his wife of forty years, Diane Key Morris and his daughter, Ginny Morris Hill, at his side.
A lifelong area resident, he was a son of the late Rufus McKey and Florence Virginia Miller Morris. Tommy was a member of the first graduating class at Wardlaw Academy and retired from BAE Systems after over thirty years of service, as a Welder. A very active member of Hollow Creek Baptist Church, he was chairman of the Deacons and was also a Sunday School Teacher. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and collecting baseball cards. More than anything however, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, daughter and parents, family members include a son, the late Thomas Morris, siblings, John Morris, Edgefield, SC and Chic Morris and his wife, Sara, Edgefield, SC; granddaughter, Ashton Morris and grandsons, Justin, Timmy and Tony Hill.
The family will greet friends on Friday, July 14th, 2017, from 6 until 8 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Hwy. Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 15th, 2017, at 10 o'clock at Hollow Creek Baptist Church, Aiken, SC, with Drs. David Richardson and Roy Head officiating. Interment will follow in Republican Baptist Church Cemetery, Edgefield, SC. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Hollow Creek Baptist Church. There will be no procession to the cemetery.
