Thomas O. Adams, Jr.
CLEARWATER, SC - Mr. Thomas O. Adams, Jr., 81, husband of the late Agnes Davis Adams, entered into rest on Monday, June 8th, 2015.
Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Thomas O. and Lucille Wilson Adams. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Clearwater Finishing Plant. Mr. Adams was a dedicated and faithful member of Clearwater First Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing and making cakes and candies. He was known by many as the "Candyman". He will be greatly missed by all he touched with his testimony. Death cannot destroy precious memories. He shall live on forever with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Penny Yaun and her husband, Bruce, Graniteville, SC, Keith Adams and his wife, Kellie, Warrenville, SC, Julie Adams, North Augusta, SC and James Adams, North Augusta, SC; siblings, Shirley Rutland, Warrenville, SC, Betty Stallings, Beech Island, SC, Frances Barton, Walterboro, SC, Mary Alice Powell and her husband, Roane, Statesboro, GA, Rachel Parris and her husband, Mike, Augusta, GA and Marion Thornburg, NM; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2015, at 2 o'clock at Clearwater First Baptist Church, Clearwater, SC, with Pastor John Bolin officiating. Interment with veterans honors accorded by a United States Army Honor Guard will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be David Smith, Marvin Herndon, Gary Herndon, Chuck Reames, Ricky Smith and Marty Collins. Members of the Master Workers Sunday Class, where Mr. Adams served has Treasurer for a number of years, will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
It has been requested that if so desired, memorials in his memory be made to the Clearwater First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 610 Clearwater, SC 29822.
The family will greet friends on (this evening) Friday, June 12th, 2015, from 6 until 8 o'clock at
