Tom Jackson
Memorial Service for Thomas Raymond Jackson, 92, of Williston, SC will be held at ten a.m., October 31, 2015 at the Williston Church of Christ.
Mr. Jackson was reared in Valdosta, Georgia, then honorably served his country during World War II in the 13th Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater from 1943-1945. He owned and served as president of Anderson Oil Company and was active in state and national petroleum boards as well as serving on several local civic organizations. He served on the SC State Board of Education. In 1991, he was Barnwell County's "Outstanding Older Citizen" and Williston's "Citizen of the Year." Mr. Jackson enjoyed politics and traveling the world. He was a faithful member of the Williston Church of Christ and served as an elder.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marylen Smith Jackson, four children, twelve grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. At his request, Tom's body was donated to the Medical College of Georgia for the advancement of education and medical research. Memorial contributions may be given in Tom's memory to Southeastern Children's Home, P.O. Box 339, Duncan, SC 29334.
