Augusta, GA - Mr. Tommy Hampton Widener, 70, entered into rest on Sunday, April 13th, 2014.
Born in Aiken County, SC and a resident of the CSRA all of his life, he was a son of the late Goldie Widener and the late Lessie Lowe Key. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, earning the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was a former Textile Worker and Heavy Equipment Operator.
In addition to his parents, family members include his children, Jeff (Christine) Widener, Cleveland, TN, Cornelia Widener, Maryville, TN, the late Randy Widener, Russell (Sherry) Widener, Cleveland, TN, Ernest (Rhonda) Widener, Niota, TN and Tammy (Robert) Cassinger, Harlem, GA; siblings, Lucy Murrell, Langley, SC, Edward Ford, Aiken, SC. Jeanette Suhr, Alta, IA, Junior Widener, Langley, SC and the late James Key, seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, April 18th, 2014, at 11 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Jimmy Coyle officiating. Interment with Veterans Honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Allen Widener, Glenn Widener, Michael Shealey, Eddie Willing, Jason Cook and Randy Wheeler.
The family will greet friends on Friday from 10 o'clock until the time of service at
Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC.
