Travis Robinson
AIKEN, SC - Funeral services for Mr. Travis P. Robinson will be 2pm tomorrow, March 12, 2016 at the G L Brightharp & Sons Mortuary Chapel with Rev. George L. Brightharp officiating. The family will assemble at the residence, 869 Lincoln Ave at 1:15pm.
Family and friends may call the residence or the funeral home after 1pm today.
During the early morning hours of March 8, 2016, the world lost a loving father, brother, cousin, and friend. Travis P. Robinson, 40, of Aiken, SC, entered his Master's Kingdom at the Charlie Norwood VAMC in Augusta, GA. Mr. Robinson was born on August 11, 1975, in Augusta, Georgia, to Pervis Robinson and the late Diane Robinson Warren.
As a young man, Travis joined the Bland Baptist Church in Johnston, SC. He was a 1993 graduate of North Augusta High School, North Augusta, SC. Travis continued his education majoring in computer engineering at Claflin University, Orangeburg, SC, and Virgina State University, Petersburg, VA. He did additional studies at Aiken Technical College.
In 1998, life's journey took Travis to start his military career in the United States Armed Forces with the 1st Battalion Field Artillery, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Later he served with 101st Airborne, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and, continued his service through the National Guard while residing in Hopewell, Virgina. Upon returning home, he sought further career opportunities through employment with Hubbell Power Systems in Aiken, SC. Travis enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially fishing with his two sons at Lake Thurmond and on the Savannah River.
Travis leaves his cherished memories to many people who loved him. He is survived by his sons Travis Robinson, Jr., Charlotte, North Carolina, and Xavier Robinson, North Augusta, SC; his father, Pervis Robinson, Aiken, SC; two sisters, Starleen Davis, North Augusta, SC, and Warneeka Robinson, Aiken, SC; one brother, Curtis Tyrone Foster, Camden, NJ; eight aunts, Lola Bell Butler, Johnston, SC, Grace Garvin, Springfield Garden, NY, Perlie Robinson and Mary Jackson, Aiken, SC, Helen Evonne Williams, Villa Rica, GA, Gloria Allen, Aiken, SC, Deborah Heller, North Augusta, SC, and Pamela Williams, Alameda, CA; three uncles, Cleo Robinson, Aiken, SC, Odell Allen, Graniteville, SC, Jimmie Minick, Atlanta, GA; two great aunts, Valeria (Luther) Daniels, Aiken, SC, and Christine (William) Collins, Denmark, SC; three god-sisters, Chanda (Harold) McClain, Lauren Williams, Alameda, CA, and Carol (Bruce) Yancy, Augusta, GA; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
