NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - The Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Walter Allan May, 75, who entered into rest April 3, 2014, will be conducted Monday morning at 11 o'clock from Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. Reverend Jacob Joseph, CMI Celebrant. Interment in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. May was a life-long resident of North Augusta and a communicant of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. He retired from the United States Postal Service as a Letter Carrier with 27 years of service. Mr. May loved music, collecting watches, traveling to Highlands, North Carolina, dressing well and good food. He was an avid Gamecock fan with a dry sense of humor.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patsy May; two daughters, Karen Michelle Brown and Laurie Allison May, both of North Augusta; a son, Michael Christopher May, North Augusta; a brother, William Shelly May, Jr., Charleston, SC; four grandchildren, Caitlin May, Carly May, Sarah May and Allie Brown.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be Michael G. Dibble, William Boettinger, Billy Hodges, Charles Hinton, Frank Carpenter, Ed Belsom and Alvin Stevens.
