Wanna Mary MorrisElliott
LEXINGTON - Wanna Mary Morris Elliott, 81, loving mother of three and grandmother to eight, died Wednesday evening, July 30, 2014 at home in Lexington.
Mrs. Elliott was born in Clarendon County on May 6, 1933. At heart, she was a nurse, who earned her nursing degree at Tuomey Medical Center in Sumter and later returned to the University of South Carolina to complete her BSN. She worked at three different Veterans Administration Hospitals and the majority of her career was spent working at Aiken Regional Medical Center. An award winning caregiver, she made a difference in the lives of all the people she touched.
She loved to learn and instilled that love in her children. She also enjoyed reading, gardening, beachcombing and traveling.
She is survived by sons, William Michael Boykin (Kim) of Charlotte and Darrell Jennings Boykin (Peggy) of Lexington; daughter, Susan Boykin Mill (Scotty) of Lexington; grandchildren, Kaley and Austin Boykin, Megan Wood Smolka (Adam), Megan Boykin, Jared Wood (Bralyn), Sydney Boykin, Harrison and Spencer Mill; sisters Doris Morris Wheeler, Linda Morris Ross and Dianne Morris Stephens; brothers
Olin Franklin Morris, Don Harvey Morris and Roger William Morris as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her siblings, James McCullum, Harry Lee Morris and half-brother Edward E. Morris.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and the family will receive friends following the service.
Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. in New Zion Methodist Church Cemetery, 7169 Salem Rd. Turbeville, SC 29162.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Oakleaf Village, her daily caregivers and Palmetto Health Hospice.
