"Josh" Platt, Jr.
NORTH AUGUSTA, SC - William Hubert "Josh" Platt, Jr., 55, of North Augusta, husband of Ms. Roberta Hazlett, died Tuesday, August 25, 2015, surrounded by his family.
Born January 25, 1960 in Aiken, SC, he was the son of the late William H. "Billy" Platt, Sr. and Deanna Sandra Gault Platt Mullen. He was raised on Hayne Ave. He attended Aiken Prep School and graduated from St. Angela High School in 1978. After attending USC, he moved to Edisto Island where he spent most of his summers at his grandparent's beach house. He worked the shrimping industry for 10 plus years. He then moved to Charleston where he worked various jobs in the area. In 2002, he returned to Aiken and in 2006, he married Roberta Hazlett. They then moved to North Augusta, where they have resided ever since.
Josh was the owner and operator of "This and That" Antique Shop on Park Ave and in North Augusta. He was a life long Jimmy Buffett fan, a lover of dogs, and the SC Lowcountry.
Josh was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Theodore Mitchell "Mitch" Platt.
Josh is survived by his wife; his step-children, Amy Duncan and David Hazlett; his grandchildren, Laura Beth Markwell, Johnathan Bush, Gabrial Hazlett and Isabella Hazlett; and his "fur babies" Max, Harry, Ginger and Dat.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 4-6PM at Hatcher Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Josh's memory to SPCA, Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare, 199 Willow Run Rd., Aiken, SC 29801 or to The Aiken County Animal Shelter (FOTAS), PO Box, 2207, Aiken, SC 29802.
