William Otis Anderson
GRANITEVILLE, SC - Entered into rest on December 30, 2015, Mr. William Otis "Andy" Anderson, husband of Mrs. Doris Mixson Anderson, of Graniteville, SC.
He was proceeded in death by his brothers, Wilson Anderson and Carl Anderson.
Surviving with his wife, Doris Mixon Anderson, of Graniteville, SC are three daughters: Marsha Tredway (Larry), Richmond, Texas, Emily Hatcher (Ed), of Edgefield, SC and Cheryl Rector (Bruce), of Dublin, GA; two sisters: Bea Anderson, Beaufort, SC and Edith Higgerson, of Chesapeake, VA; four grandchildren: Caitlin Tredway, Jaimey Hatcher Rodgers, John Hatcher and Josh Hatcher and three great-grandchildren: Callie Rodgers, Christopher Rodgers, and Carson Rodgers.
Mr. Anderson was born in Beaufort, SC to the late James Robert Anderson and Minnie Orean Adams Anderson.
Mr. Anderson proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was captured by the Germans and spent eight months as a Prisoner of War.
He retired from civil service at Parris Island with forty-three years of service. He was a member of Clearwater First Baptist Church, their Men's Sunday School Class and a member of and a deacon for many years at First Baptist Church of Beaufort, SC
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 1, 2016 at 1 o'clock at Clearwater First Baptist Church with Pastor John Bolin officiating. Military honors will be accorded by the United States Army. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Clearwater Men's Sunday School Class.
Interment will be Saturday, January 2, 2016 in the Sand Hill Cemetery, Varnville, SC.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 11:30 until service time. Hatcher Funeral Home is assisting the Anderson family.
