Willie Mae Woods
JACKSON, SC - Willie Mae Woods, 65, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 at her residence. A Celebration of Life service will be held for her at 12:00PM on Saturday, Feb., 27, 2016 at St. Phillip Baptist Church, 51 St. Phillip Rd., Beech Island with Rev. Eric Butler, Officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Woods was born in Bath, SC to the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie D. and Annie B. Price and a graduate of Jefferson High School. She was the loving wife of the late Mr. Samuel P. Woods, who proceeded her in death on February 19, 2016. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Walker and Laura Price. She developed a lifelong passion for helping others, cooking delightful meals and spending time with all of her family.
She is survived by two lovely daughters: Erica (Isiah Sr.) Pinkney, Atlanta, GA and Stephanie Landy, Jackson, SC; one sister, Elouise Odom, Washington, DC; two brothers: John (Barbara) Price, North Augusta, SC and Thomas Price, Bath, SC; six wonderful grandchildren: Ieisha (Richard) Carter, Isiah (Shatavia) Pinkney, Jr., Isiah Shakour Pinkney, Jaden Hurst, Tristen Hurst and Maci Valentine; four great-grandchildren: Chanta Carter, Jason Carter, Isiah Pinkney and Elijah Pinkney; and a host of nieces and nephews that were all precious to her.
Friends may call at her residence of 224 Patton Dr., in Jackson - (803) 226-5575 or (803) 439-6388 or beginning at 2:00PM on Friday at the funeral home.
