Wyatt Edgar Propst
MONCKS CORNER, SC - Wyatt Edgar Propst, 85, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired electrical engineer for the Charleston Naval Shipyard, died Wednesday morning in a Moncks Corner hospital.
His funeral will be 3:00 PM Saturday afternoon, Septem-ber 27, 2014, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. Interment will follow in St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 PM until the hour of service Saturday. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the St. John's Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o First Baptist Church of Moncks Corner, 112 E. Main St., Moncks Corner, SC 29461, or to the USC Educational Fund, 1027 Barnwell St., Ste. 214, Columbia, SC 29208.
Mr. Propst was born April 7, 1929, in Aiken, SC, a son of John Henry Propst, Sr., and Roberta Cooper Propst. He was a member of St. John's Baptist Church, a US Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, and a member of the Sigma Pi Sigma Honorary Society. Mr. Propst was a former professor for the University of South Carolina and a former electrical engineer for SCE&G.
Surviving are, his wife, Anne Dreher Propst; a daughter, Judy Propst Stewart of Moncks Corner; three sons, John Wyatt Propst of Columbia, Larry Cooper Propst of Pinopolis, F. Eugene Propst of Moncks Corner; eight grandchildren, Lauren Libet, Amanda Kelley, LeeAnna McBee, Wyatt Stewart, Cooper Propst, Sarah Propst, Andrew Propst, and Erin Propst; and eight great-grandchildren.
